Canon Beach

The sea touches many shores, and each shore touched is forever changed, for better or for worse. Shifting sands, uprooted trees, even stone can only withstand the barrage for so long. While on the surface, change is obvious; the greater depths show a much more tumultuous battle. It invades every crack and crater; every trench and cave. Molested by the non-discriminatory hand of the waves, wanted or unwanted. With each battle, the erosion of the sea breaks through the unflinching stone. Change is inevitable for a time, but eventually the second stage of infancy arrives, and one fades away as it was born. Only time has seen this battle end to end. Throughout, civilizations have been born and reached death; only to be built upon or simply forgotten. With this, the ever constant crashing continues as it will. With time as its only companion.

Well unfortunately I’ve been quite out of practice. So these photos of my favorite place on the planet don’t necessarily do it justice. Though there are a few dirty gems amongst the mediocrity. Please enjoy these photos from my sleep deprived, mentally unhealthy, and down right dangerous 36 hour trip to Canon Beach, Oregon from Utah.

This one hurts my soul. So close to greatness, to a truly captivating photo. Unfortunately is is slightly blurry, just like my poor broken soul. I am a big fan of the composition though.

Soul Crusher

As I was preparing to take this photo it began to rain on the southern part of the beach. This took away the nice colors I was looking for but, it did allow me to capture some rainfall on the right side of the photo. Win some, Lose some eh?

True Beauty

I’m so happy I was able to fit this trip into my life, I hope one day to revisit Canon Beach and take photos that show off the true beauty of the coast.
